Well, I hate work…. I have to do it or I’ll wind up homeless though. I don’t know how to get those freebie government subsides all the tough guys in the manosphere always complain about. Y’know, that people of whatever skin color they don’t like are (supposedly) getting rich off of…

Seems to me there is allot of shaming language used when it comes to work. It seems it is just something the “managerial types” use to fatten up their bonuses at the expense of lower ranking employees. Crappy phrases like “man-up” have just gotta go.

“Not so long ago, the average American man in his 20s had achieved most of the milestones of adulthood: a high-school diploma, financial independence, marriage and children. Today, most men in their 20s hang out in a novel sort of limbo, a hybrid state of semi-hormonal adolescence and responsible self-reliance. This “pre-adulthood” has much to recommend it, especially for the college-educated. But it’s time to state what has become obvious to legions of frustrated young women: It doesn’t bring out the best in men. ”

Kay Hymowitz….

Yup, it seems men don’t have value for existing, just what they can do for others, especially women… Is this the real reason why all the weirdo’s at Manboobz hate Men Going Their Own Way? Maybe if those MRA types are planning to get anything done, they should talk about a new life script for males instead of just whining. Where am I going with this, you ask? Let’s say you have a son who loves music. Instead of bullying him into cutting his hair, getting a degree and getting a boring 9-to-5 in an office, maybe you should support his dreams of becoming the next Eddie Van Halen. I’m not saying you should pay all his bills while he lives in the basement ’till he is 40. I’m suggesting that you should let him have more flexibility than the traditional script. Y’know the flexibilty that women have had for the past 40 years. Some women want to pursue higher education, some want to be stay at home moms, some want to be starving artists. There needs to be a change in gender roles where men are seen as more than a walking paycheck.

That’s one problem I have with PUA and Game. It’s all about a man trying to “prove” his value, his “status”. I always found it irritating when someone would brag how many hours they work. Dude, you don’t need to clock all those extra hours just for new rims. Almost as pathetic as some guy trying to claim he is better than you cause he gets more pussy. Most guys realize, probably a little too late, that they can somewhat easily get money or sex but at the price of their dignity. Isn’t true status working as much or as little as you want and not giving a shit what others think. Oh, wait, I conflated that with freedom. Not the kind a stinky neo-con like George Bush talks about though. I guess I am outta touch, gotta start watching more TV and get with the program. NOT.

Now if you’ve read any MRA stuff, you’ve learned how unfair it can be if your marriage goes wrong with alimony and such other things. Interestingly enough, what those mostly right wing types leave out is how you are getting screwed in taxes. Even if you are not one of the 53% who pay Federal taxes, you are still paying other taxes whenever you buy something and also FICA taxes. Well, guess what, that money that is supposed to be for your retirement is running out. “While Medicare won’t have sufficient funds to pay full benefits starting in 2024, five years earlier than last year’s estimate, Social Security’s cash to pay full benefits runs short in 2036, a year sooner than the 2010 projection, the U.S. government said today in an annual report.”

Now, whether you are a minimum wage kid living at home or a six figure earner with six pack abs, this is still your money that should go back to you. Not to a banskers bailout. Not to an oil company. Not to a war for ” Iraqi Freedom.” George Lakeoff articulates this more eloquently than I ever could. “We must protect the prior earnings of American workers set aside in Social Security or private pensions. They have been earned through hard work and discipline. Taking these earnings away is theft, despite the Right’s use of the word “entitlements.”

Aw, well, as the Gods of Grind, Carcass beautifully stated in a great song:

“Just raw material
Your pound of flesh for the suzerain
Toiling, rotting
Life slowly dissipates
Consumed, inhumed
In a corruption line, mechanized
By mincing machinery, industrialized – crunched and brutalised
A grave to the blind ”
