Red vs Blue

Well, if you’ve done much reading in the manosphere, you may have heard the that there are those who stay blissfully ignorant or those who pursue reality- a Blue Pill/Red Pill dicotomy. This is, in fact, a reference to the movie The Matrix. I have watched all three and while the finer points of the stories may have escaped me I did love the effects. Some say there is a deep philosophy behind the movies, books have been written to this effect. Now, when I had been reading about the Feminist theoretical construct of patriarchy, I often thought they might have been talking about a matrix like world. By way of Toysoldier, I discovered this article by Melissa McEwan. She states “Like the Matrix, which Morpheus described as “everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room… It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth,” the systemic sexism known as the patriarchy is so comprehensive and profound that “seeing it” actually takes some effort, some willingness to see it. And, like those who find themselves awakening from the Matrix, people who find themselves awakening from the patriarchy learn to identify its patterns, upon which it is dependent for the transmission of its ideals and its continual self-generation.”

Toysoldier rebukes with, “Not so surprisingly, McEwan fails to realize the irony of the comparison. Perhaps had she watched Reloaded and Revolutions she would have learned that Morpheus’ views and explanations are shown to be dogmatic, one-sided and false — just like the Matrix itself. The truth cannot be found simply by realizing that the Matrix is a false reality. That is only the beginning. One should–in fact one must–question every rule, every notion, every item of dogma, including whether one has attained knowledge. This means that one must be like Neo, not Morpheus (who represents systems like feminism), and assume that everything one is told may be false. Why? Simply because one has been shown that the world was not what it seemed to be.”

Anyways, there was an old movie I really liked called Dark City. It had some similarities to The Matrix….

I don’t know why, but upon watching the above video, this Alice in Chains video came to mind….

I usually get lost in involved stories but I like interesting visuals, maybe that’s why I like ‘shrooms 😉

  1. There’s no depth to The Matrix movies, and people who like them are the same easily-fooled people who think George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Tom Waits and Tori Amos have “depth.”

The Matrix series is a paltry ripoff of William Gibson’s “Neuromancer,” itself a plastic ripoff of Wild Bill Lee’s “Naked Lunch.”

Some Hollywood types tried to dress it up as “philosophy” with their usual simulacra/simulation gibberish, but that’s just a restatement of a Baudrillard restatement of Nietzsche.

I’m sure it’s taught at all the trendy mail-order colleges.
